'Griezmann is a Perfect Fit for Bayern' Claims Willy Sagnol

Bayern Munich's transfer advisor and their former player Willy Sagnol believes that Antoine Griezmann would become an essential member of Pep Guardiola's team if they decide to acquire his services this summer.

Antoine Griezmann joined Atletico Madrid last summer from Real Sociedad and is enjoying his best season in his career with Los Colchoneros.

The 24-year-old Frenchman has netted 25 goals this season in all competitions and as a result has managed to attract the interest from many major European teams. Premier League champions Chelsea, are one of the teams who are linked with a possible move for the player in the forthcoming transfer window, but will face heavy competition from Bundesliga champions - Bayern Munich.

Willy Sagnol has praised Griezmann and compared the Frenchman with his compatriot Franck Ribery, as well as with Bayern's former iconic striker - Roy Maakay.

“Griezmann fits with both the style of Bayern and Guardiola,” Sagnol said to media.

“He is a talented player, like Franck Ribery in his early career. He’s more disciplined than Frank was. He’s similar to Roy Makaay.

“He’s a player for the last 25 metres. Guardiola needs someone like him.

“Bayern and I are always in touch. If they want to know something about a French player, they know who to call.”

However, a substantial stumbling block for all teams interested in Griezmann is his €65m release clause from Atletico and the fact that the striker is enjoying his life and the status he has in Madrid.
