Bayern Munich's sporting director Matthias Sammer has lauded the club's latest signing Arturo Vidal, saying the player has immense physical qualities that he will bring to the Bundesliga champions in abundance.
The Chile international completed a €40m transfer to the Allianz Arena from Juventus on Tuesday as the club have moved swiftly to replace Bastian Schweinsteiger, who signed for Manchester United earlier this month.
During his four year stay at Juventus, Vidal established himself as one of the best box-to-box midfielders currently in the game and Sammer was quick to praise the 28-year-old's physicality as he was presented to the media.
"He is physically strong, powerful, technically strong, he can score goals and is tactically good. He is also a winner with his way of playing football. Those qualities will be a good fit for Bayern.”
Sammer himself was a midfielder during his playing career, and was asked about comparisons between himself and Vidal, but he believes the former is a player not like any other in the world.
